Taylor honors 2024 graduates at commencement

Taylor University plans to celebrate the class of 2024 and recognize three honorary doctorate recipients at this year’s commencement ceremony, scheduled at 10 a.m. on May 18 in the Kesler Student Activities Center.

'I Love TU' week brings in $1.9 million

Taylor University raised $1.9 million during the annual I Love TU week from April 29 to May 3. This event is Taylor’s largest annual fundraising campaign, with a goal to raise $250,000 over the course of five days.

TU announces $500 million campaign goal

A Taylor University campaign goal of $500 million, of which $275 million has already been raised to fund Taylor Thrives’ strategic plan, was announced Friday, April 26. The ‘Life to the Full’ $500 million campaign is the largest fundraising effort in Taylor University’s 178-year history, Lindsay announced at the President’s Vision Gala April 26.

Chris Tomlin performed at Taylor University, inspiring community between generations on April 26. The performance was held in the Kesler Student Activities Center as part of the TUGather weekend and lasted two hours. Tomlin played hits like “Good Good Father,” “How Great Is Our God” and “Holy Forever.”

Bob Goff speaks in chapel

Goff delivered an encouraging message to the multigenerational audience about what it looks like to live life to the full through loving God and one another. The special chapel service was a feature of Grandparents Day, where the university welcomed students’ grandparents onto campus, and also TUGather, which is a campus-wide experience packed with events for all to enjoy. Five hundred grandparents and 1500 additional guests were present on campus, according to the university’s announcements.

Swallow Robin to become all-female hall

On April 30 at 4:35 p.m., returning male residents of Swallow Robin Hall’s second floor were informed by the Taylor University housing office via an email that the co-ed residence hall will be changed to be an all-female residence hall for the 2024-25 academic year.

Randall welcome master's program

Rooms in the Randall Environmental Center will be reallocated to serve the new Master of Science in Medical Science and physician assistant master’s program. Construction to implement proposed changes will likely begin in December of this year, Matt Renfrow, dean of the school of natural and applied sciences, said.

Students honor Prayer Chapel

The Memorial Prayer Chapel’s carpet stains, odor and scattered crumbled paper testify to its years of use which spurred the cleaning initiative, sophomore Jessica Vieth said. Students had an opportunity to clean the prayer chapel on Saturday with the support of Rev. Dyson, vice president for spiritual life & intercultural leadership and campus pastor. The clean-up was led by Veith sophomores Peyton Fiegel, Adeline Heuser and Evan Smith.
