Lighting Strikes
By Caleb Taylor | September 26I stand on the edge of the world, watching the clouds swirl beneath my feet. A storm is forming in the cloud layer below, and as I watch, the first lightning bolt arcs upward, striking one of the metal poles underneath the island. There’s been talk of dismantling the rods and repurposing their metal for the island’s current shortage, but if those rods disappear, so does our primary source of power. That doesn’t stop the talk though; people will be people.
