“It’s a trap!”
If you head over to east Marion, you may just find that the force is strong at Obi’s Barbeque, and you won't want to leave.
Chewbacca, Darth Vader and a stormtrooper greet you at the door of this “Star Wars”-themed spot, tempting you to the smoky side.
Serving up classic BBQ dishes like pulled pork, ribs and brisket, they’ll have the perfect dish for your palate.
As a friend and I entered the place and sat ourselves down, we were quickly greeted with menus to get started.
Obi’s Barbecue serves smoked meats like chicken, turkey and sausage, pulled meats including chicken and pork, and special briskets, rib tips, meat candy and St. Louis cut ribs.
Their sandwich menu offers many of the same meats on brioche, along with some cheesier alternatives.
Shame on anybody who would go to a beautiful place like this and order the chicken strips.
Sides, including baked potatoes, corn bread sticks, mac-n-cheese, collard greens, baked beans, and more, pair well with the meat and are a delicious way to balance out your meal.
Though we were going to order different meals, the allure of the ribs was too much for both my friend and me. If you end up there anytime soon, we highly recommend the pulled rib sandwich.
Drenched in the saucy goodness of sweet barbecue, the tender pork on its brioche bun left us satisfied and full.
Obi’s housemade barbecue sauces and rubs add to the experience with exciting new tastes and have options for both the sweet and the spicy lover.
With most entrees coming in around $9.99, including each of ours, the prices are reasonable, and the trip is worth it.
