Soul’d Out Concert

By Katelyn S. Irons

Southern gospel group the Soul'd Out Quartet will be visiting the Epworth United Methodist Church this week for a concert. The concert will be taking place on Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Epworth Church states the group has a "young, energetic, and exciting" style. Known for their gospel songs "Worthy The Lamb Is He" and "That'll be a great day," this group has been named "Horizon group of the year" by readers of "Singing News" and "Breakthrough Artist of 2012."

Though the group is based out of Georgetown Ohio, this performance comes as a part of the tours the band makes traveling through more than 25 states each year.

Lead singer Bryan Hutson is a family man but says that seeing someone come to Christ makes the travel worthwhile. The other members of the group are Matt Rankin, baritone, Dusty Barrett, tenor, Dan Owens, bass, and Michael Howard, pianist.

Epworth United Methodist Church is located in Matthews, Ind. on West 8th Street. Its past concerts have included gospel performers Gordon Mote, the 3rd Row Boys and Steve Ladd. The church will be accepting love offerings to their Concert Outreach Ministry Fund to help them continue having concerts like this one.

"A lot of the members in my church are elderly and it's difficult for them to travel, and I wanted to give them the opportunity to see high-caliber concerts locally." said Damon Moorman, concert coordinator at Epworth.
